Is it a Cutey or a Q3?

Barry de Klerk - The Audi Q3 is one of the best-looking cars on the market today, but then again, most Audis are well-designed.

The Q3 caught my attention a while ago, and I have to say its looks were not the only thing that impressed me. It finds its place somewhere between a large hatchback and SUV, a crossover vehicle of some sorts, and it is worth every penny.

If you do not want to go for something as big as the Q5 or Q7, then the Q3 is just the car for you. It offers everything you need and so much more. The newer model has a few upgrades from the previous one. On the inside you will get the same quality design as seen on the outside.

The 3-spoke leather trimmed steering wheel is a beauty. It comes with cruise control, virtual cockpit and complete control over a wide range of internal and external functions. The complete infotainment system is something completely different for me.

Audi has a smartphone interface that works with Bluetooth, giving you voice control over the entertainment. If you are not into that, then you can always just use the touch screen. The car also has a dual-zone climate control system. The car offers between 530 – 1 525 litres of cargo space, depending on whether you fold the back seats up.

The engine is a 1.4l turbo petrol 4-cylinder unit. It gives out 110 kW and 250 Nm, which puts on quite the show. The car features an S-tronic dual clutch transmission with a 6-speed gearbox. Audi claims the fuel economy is 5.0l per 100 km.

In the safety department the Q3 is fitted with various airbags for the driver and passengers. It also features ABS with EBD and brake assist. Other safety functions include: electronic stability control with hill descent control and hold assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
