Kia Picanto - Guess Who's Back

I wonder who still remembers the first Picanto's. Not that it was actually that long ago when they first made their debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 2003, as a spunky little city car with a 1.1L (or 1.0L) multipoint injection engine, ideal for those mainly operating in town and not so much on the open road. In 2007, the car got a face-lift to fit in, and more importantly, to stand out from the new kids on the block and firmly stood its ground. 2011 came and the manufacturer decided to launch a new generation of Picanto's into the world at the Geneva Motor Show - again taking the marketing bull by the horns.

Compact on the outside, roomy on the inside, and full of big ideas for each road. With its dynamic performance and agility, the Picanto turns your neighborhood into your personal playground. The 2017 Kia Picanto was launched in the early days of this year; still small, still roomy but with more features than ever before. With leather seats, a stylish dashboard featuring a 7 inch multimedia audio and entertainment system, rear view camera, Bluetooth with voice recognition, day time running lights, park distance control, and so much more that you can get in the brochure.

The size of the luggage bay is about 255 liters, and there is a 2-step boot floor that can be lowered by 145 mm to access more space or to keep valuable items hidden out of sight! For those who need a bit more space on some days, the rear seats fold flat in a 60:40 configuration, increasing available space to 1 010 liters, making it easy to fit in a bicycle or some items needed for the home.

With regards to power and speed, the little car has a 1.2L which offers peak outputs of 61 Kw and 122 Nm of torque - not the strongest, but adequate in most regions. The 5-speed gearbox allows for smooth transitions, while the steering of the vehicle is top-notch in terms of responsiveness, providing easy handling for the driver. Safety features also making the deal looking great, are the ABS braking features, the ISOFIX children's seat mounts and airbags. A very important feature of the Picanto, is its extremely low fuel consumption, with a staggeringly low 4- 6.4L per 100km (which is about 15 to just over 20km on a liter of fuel). The fuel tank has a capacity for 35L of petrol, making a trip of 700km an average fuel range.

You cannot really go wrong with the Picanto - it is stylish, compact and has a lot of awesome features, but not such a big price tag, as you can have a brand new car for as little as N$143 000! So contact Kia Namibia today, to put a little fun in every day!
