The rebel is back on the road and creating a sensation – and with even more driving pleasure and goosebumps for its drivers.
Outside: Fast-paced.
Inside: Styled luxury.
All of the components inside the GTI are carefully tailored to one another to give the vehicle its distinctively sporty look. This starts with the stainless steel pedals and extends to the decorative trims and hallmark stitching all the way to the black headliner. The LED background lighting adds accents of light in all the right places. And you’ll also notice straight away that the digital future has arrived in the cockpit. These features are dominated by high-resolution displays and the majority of functions, like the radio, air conditioning system and lighting, can be operated using touch-sensitive surfaces and sliders. Let’s touch.
Offering you a sporty, elegant appearance.
When there is a red line stretching across the front and the radiator grille features a honeycomb design and black air intakes, then there can just be three letters on the badge: GTI. Slim LED headlights, a strikingly dynamic bumper and extended side skirts add even more expression to the sportiness of this legendary vehicle. At the back, the roof spoiler and chrome-plated tailpipes are essential features, while the LED tail light clusters round off the unique appearance.
The classic function knobs in the cockpit have largely made way for touch-sensitive surfaces in the Golf GTI. This allows you to control the Climatronic, for example, simply and intuitively using buttons and sliders. Even the leather trim touch multifunction steering wheel can be operated with a simple tap of the finger. In combination with intelligent menu navigation, you have access to lots of functions. Haptic feedback through gentle vibration confirms every entry.
The GTI look is visible in every corner of the interior.
The standard high-quality “Vienna” leather equipment is smooth, creating a chic, premium feel. The black perforated natural material covers the central seat panels and inner seat bolsters on the front premium sport seats – making the hallmark GTI red stitching look particularly impressive.
Fog? The standard LED front fog lights that come in the new 5-honeycomb design and are built into the bumper, provide additional light. Turn them on quickly and the world will look pretty different. And your Golf GTI will look even more striking.
Nothing shapes the side view of a vehicle than the wheels. The dynamic alloy wheels that are available as an option impressively enhance the Golf GTI’s sporty nature.
With its 2.0 TSI engine, the performance hatch delivers an impressive 180 kW that hurtles you from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds – and enables you to reach a top speed of 250 km/h (regulated). This amount of power is not just fun on straight roads, but on windy roads, too. Here, you’ll also receive a helping hand from the front differential lock, which stabilises your Golf GTI if it slips and helps you to keep control in the process. Wherever you are heading, you can make the most of this powerful engine.
Climb in and hit the gas: the DSG dual-clutch gearbox with its brand new smaller selector lever guarantees fun behind the wheel without any interruptions. That’s because you can change seamlessly between the gears and even reduce your fuel consumption. Pressing on the selector lever enables you to easily select your chosen driving mode, which is then activated via the electrically connected shift-by-wire gearbox. Particularly handy in a traffic jam: When combined with the optional Travel Assist feature, the system can help you to pull away and brake.
Who would have thought that a little phrase like “electronic differential lock XDS+” could bring such a broad smile to your face? This is precisely what happens in the Golf GTI. That’s because the standard XDS+ delivers more traction, which helps you to feel safe when cornering. For example, the precise application of pressure to one side results in sportier, faster and more accurate cornering, so it comes as no surprise that you feel yourself start to smile when you spot a curve ahead.
Do you love narrow bends? Then the Golf GTI is the ideal car for you. That's because it offers you features like a front differential lock, that stabilises your Golf GTI if it starts to slip. This gives you better control, even if you have a sporty driving style.
With the Innovision Cockpit both displays, measuring 10 inches (25.4 cm) and 10.25 inches (26.04 cm), are available. The resulting display landscape not only contains classic content like the rev counter, speedometer and mileage counter, but also other useful data in an even clearer and more detailed display. You can even set up favourite functions on the home screen, just like the way you would configure your smartphone.
The Golf GTI has a digital cockpit pro as standard.
The optional Travel Assist is an extremely practical driver-assist system. At the touch of a button, it ensures driving comfort by providing assistance in monotonous and tiring driving situations.
The Golf GTI is already fitted with visibly dynamic LED headlights as standard that stretch all the way round to the side wings, while sleek LED tail light clusters dominate at the rear. You also have the option of equipping your Golf GTI with IQ.LIGHTs. In this case, extra powerful LED matrix headlights fitted with “Dynamic Light Assist” main-beam control light up the road. The package also includes innovative dynamic turn signals that use an animated strip of lights to show which way you are turning.
