Barry de Klerk - Have a beer, eat a pretzel and enjoy the show at this year’s Windhoek Oktoberfest with Pupkewitz BMW.
This year will be a total overhaul as Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) – subsidiary of the Olthaver & List (O&L) Group has taken over full ownership of the event.
Pupkewitz BMW will be one of the main sponsors of the event and they are excited to once again be part of it. Armand Barnard, dealer principal at Pupkewitz BMW said they will take care of all BMW clients who attend the event.
“BMW will bring our latest range of vehicles to you as our customer and ensure that you get chauffeured to safety whilst enjoying the hospitality of NBL at the Oktoberfest,” said Barnard.
Apart from beautiful German vehicles, festival goers can once again expect Bavarian cuisine and the specially made Festbier. The Kirchdorfer band and the Jaegermeister Band will be the main entertainment. They will be joined by the Schuhplattler and Die Broers, as well as other local dancers.
Project leader of the Windhoek Oktoberfest, Daniel Keulder said this year that will be an adjustment in catering, as it will be a bigger festival. This will be to accommodate the Namibians as well as any international festival goers.
“We have seen a significant number of growth in international guests as well, and want to make sure that we are in a position to keep things running smoothly throughout, hence a few adjustments to accommodate the bigger capacity we expect,” Keulder said.
Some of the adjustments for the event includes: cashless payment system by Howler; an extended beer bar; two traditional beer bars; two additional bars and a beer trailer.
Other sponsors include Lufthansa Airlines in cooperation with Eurowings as sponsors and the Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW) remains the premises for the event.
Tickets to the Windhoek Oktoberfest are available at any Pick & Pay outlet or can be purchased at through Webtickets. For more information visit the Oktoberfest website: www.oktoberfestnamibia.com.
