Mitsubishi Pajero Sport

Garwin Beukes - A king by birth right, the Mitsubishi Pajero name has always been a leader in the SUV market and now with the Pajero Sport hitting Namibian shores, many will stand in line to get their hands on it first.

What makes this beast of a car what it is? The four-wheel drive variant is fitted with the automaker's 'super select 4-II 4WD system' which now also boasts electronic off-road assistance says Mitsubishi. To some this system is not anything new. Before the upgraded model the system was used to win rally after rally in it's class.

The newcomer boasts double wishbone coil springs with a stabilizer bar in the front and multi-link suspension with stabilizer bar in the back. Hill-Descent Control has been added for additional safety when on dangerous ground. In addition, the selectable Off-road Mode maximizes traction on unsealed surfaces. The 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine produces 133kW/430Nm of torque. All this matched with an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
