The long weekends and holidays are approaching, and even though Namibians are weary of the current COVID-19 outbreak, many are still planning their trips in the hopes that when the time to pack up comes, the virus has left us.
Be that a realistic dream or not, we’ve decided to take a look at a few facts, including favoured routes as well as popular destinations, that might be on most Namibians’ Easter weekend lists.
Popular destinations for Namibians over long weekends include central places such as Windhoek, Okahandja and Rehoboth, or coastal towns such as Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Henties Bay. Many people are also travelling to the Northern regions of Namibia towards Oshakati, Rundu and Grootfontein.When travelling towards the South of the country, many people might be heading to Luderitz or Keetmanshoop. Some people are heading out to family or friends on farms in various regions in the country, or even popular tourist destinations, such as Etosha or Erindi.
